Choreographed by Clouds precipitates impressions that are all too human and larger than life. Clouds move us and we move them: Massive, indomitable, wow — while overlooked, ignored, of course. This collection is transpositions of real cloud observations that temporarily take on human form. Movement vignettes (Kristin Hatleberg), screendances (Fred Hatt/Kristin Hatleberg), mural (Katherine Mann), and musings (Erik Moe) amass and drift to take us where the winds blow.

Continually Healing continues research from a choreographic series that began in 2018, advancing my content-driven inquiry for trauma, violence, inaction, and eventual reconciliation. The Healing series was driven forward by my desire to address the political climate of the U.S., and how we can counteract the spew of politically driven suppression, oppression, and hate which has historically plagued this country. This work includes connections to healing and trauma that all individuals have experienced in some way during the pandemic. Stories are extremely varied, and there are some universal truths. Continually Healing will focus on the events of 2020/2021 including the pandemic, Black Lives Matter, the Stop AAPI Hate movement, and climate change. The involvement of racially diverse company dancers, their voices, and their unique stories will be crucial to this work while providing a platform for uplifting BIPOC voices, not replacing them.
